The Problem
FCM Travel Managers are responsible for overseeing a considerable number of travelers ranging from 20 to 50 individuals at a given time. The intricacy involved in managing such a vast number of travelers is significant. There are various challenges that arise, including monitoring whether a traveler caught their flight on schedule, ensuring their accommodation is secured, and providing necessary transportation to take them to various locations upon arrival at their destination. The most significant challenge for the Travel Managers is being promptly notified of any events that impact their travelers. For instance, if a traveler is on a business trip to Hong Kong and the Face Mask protest begins, which directly affects them, the Travel Manager must be notified of this event.

Introducing Kristin Murphy, a seasoned Travel Manager at FCM Travel who has been facilitating business travel for numerous clients across the globe for the past 3 years. With over 50 Travellers scattered across various destinations, she is a busy professional who strives to stay informed about their whereabouts and any incidents that may affect their travel. Kristin's priorities as an FCM agent include receiving notifications about events that impact her Travellers, rather than global occurrences.
She desires a unified view of all her Travellers, including their office and department details.
Additionally, Kristin would like to export this information in CSV format and filter it to display only flights and hotels.
Existing Dashboard
The current dashboard is primarily alert-focused and does not prioritize the traveller's information. Managers are solely concerned with alerts that affect their own travellers, not all alerts worldwide. The dashboard lacks the ability to display traveller information or any related details. Additionally, managers are unable to filter alerts by flights or hotels, which would help to identify affected travellers. Lastly, managers are not interested in receiving alerts related to travel forecasts.
Prototypes Version 1
To gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by traveller managers, we developed several low-fidelity prototypes. These prototypes helped us gain additional insights into their needs and preferences. The prototypes were exploratory in nature and helped us determine which ideas were feasible and which were not.

Sketching Ideas
Sketching my ideas is another valuable step in the design process. In my sketches, I try to think if the user flow and design screens make sense. I try to solve as much problems as quickly as possible. Also, sketches allow me to communicate my ideas with the other members of the team before I commit any hours to design.
Final UI Designs 1
We had a meeting to discuss version 01 of the prototype. A few issues came up and I made further changes to the design. This step was done until we reached a fairly acceptable design that we all felt was enough to take back to the Traveller Managers.

We did user testing on the final design with the Travel Managers and a few usability issues came up. Since this is an on-going project, we are busy documenting all the changes before I hand over the project back to Devs.
